If you’re headed to a locale with freezing temps, the proper cold weather gear will quickly become your best friend. The last thing you want to do is miss out on some awesome snow activities due to freezing toes or fingers. Investing in the right jacket is essential, and there are some main differences between the styles. Men’s snowboarding jackets tend to have a looser, longer fit so you can wear more layers underneath. Men’s ski jackets usually have a more classic fit, while still allowing you to wear layers underneath. Some other ski and snowboarding gear you’ll want to invest in is proper snow goggles that won’t fog up, warm winter pants and men’s ski boots or snowboarding boots.

Cold-Weather Camping

Cold-weather camping requires very specific gear to ensure you’re comfortable. To start, you’ll need a sturdy tent, sleeping pads, an ultra-warm sleeping bag and a stove that works in cold temps. When it comes to proper snow outfits, you’ll need layers, layers and more layers. The best base layers fit snugly but not too tight and are made from high-quality materials. Your second layer should be a wool sweater or fleece that helps trap in the heat and the third should be a cold-weather-rated winter coat. Some of the warmest winter coats for men are packed with ultra-warm down or synthetic fill with a sturdy shell that’ll protect you from wind, rain and snow. Finally, you’ll want to invest in a pair of waterproof (not water-resistant) winter boots with plenty of insulation.
